Loose your shield just duck for a sec and boom you're full while that GK0 is still struggling with overall health. If in cqc matches wreck em with scouts and freedom hmgs. They did get a buff but not what Cal got with shields. Cal assault isn't OP, he's talking about Gallente Factional Warfare, this is a generic comment, some people believe Gallente assault is OP since the buff. It's so obvious you didn't read past the title unless Summa did a slick ninja edit. I'm just saying that the Gallente seem to be dominating the Caldari in Faction Warfare right now. The Caldari are trying but it just doesn't seem to be working out for them right now. I would agree. I have seen match after match where my Caldari side have been trounced time and again. Very discouraging and demoralising.
On another note, though, I've been told just today that it's all a big lie - the matching system puts you on whatever team it needs to, in order to balance the match, and just tell you that you're fighting for the Caldari. Have any of you any insights into this? I've noticed, for instance, that while the matches are populating, I will often be on the Gallente side which I took to be simply an artefact of the matching system, as by the time the match started, my team was renamed State Peacekeepers. Is this all just an elaborate hoax?
For me, the only thing that makes Dust "real" to me is the FW - I'm an EvE player and we're very serious about FW there. I'd love to think that Dust FW is real, but it seems it may not be.... |

It seems like no one stands a chance against the Gallente right now. squaded or solo ? The domination is definitely from squadded teams. There's no doubt about the coordination involved. |

I'd love to think that Dust FW is real, but it seems it may not be.... I have noticed this too but I had been hoping it was a display error. One match in particular I noticed that it listed me on the Caldari side and when I looked around the Warbarge all I saw was a bunch of Caldari; I was like "dafuq is this?" . Once the match started though it had me listed as fighting for the Gallente. I better only be fighting for the Gallente. This ^
I haven't been around long enough to determine which players and corps are typically Caldari and which are Gallente, so I've been going by the name of the team which is always correct by the time the match starts. But you say you see you're on the same team as a bunch of Caldari. Can you identify them as that or are you just going by the team name? If you can identify them as Caldari, perhaps that indicates you are actually fighting for Caldari, just the game system is telling you you're fighting for Gallente?
Like you I am determined to only fight for my chosen faction. I would not at all be happy with finding out I'm actually fighting Gallente. I frankly thought the possibility was ridiculous when I first heard it. How could CCP be so crass as to do this, just to "balance" a match? But the more I think about it, the more I wonder. |

In the match that made me go "WTF?" I noticed a bunch of Caldari hanging around in the Warbarge before the match so it told me that these people had a Caldari suit selected as their favorite instead of a Gallente Suit. That one match it seemed like I was the only Gallente walking around in the Warbarge. Yes, I've noticed this as well. I tend to be fairly staunch Caldari, only wear Caldari suits fight with Caldari weapons most of the time, and only fight CFW. But I do recognise that there are others who aren't as singular about this, who will fight with whatever gear they like. Most of my CFW matches, I see mostly Caldari suits, but there have been a few where I've felt I was on the wrong team. That's what ultimately got me thinking.... |

Instead of players having incentive to fight for their faction or to fight for the losing side they are simply lured into joining the stomping side until there is literally nothing left worth fighting on the opposite side and some players make their way to the other side out of pure boredom. I've thought this myself. I don't believe there are enough racial bonuses in Dust. In EvE, every ship has very specific bonuses related to the type of weaponry that suits it, and although you can use anything that fits, if you use the right weapons, you will get bonuses to damage, range, rate of fire, virtually everything that matters. ONLY people with absolutely no clue or skills would fit the wrong weapons to a ship they could fly, because there would be no point. You train a ship and then fit it with the right type of weapons (that suit your race) to get the maximum bonuses.
In Dust, the suits have bonuses as well, but they're generally laughable. Rate of reload, for instance, and reduced kick. Nothing about damage, rate of fire, things that matter in the 2 seconds (if that) that you live or die. I believe this to be because people don't want to be locked down to a specific race and its weapons. I see every race suit using all sorts of weapons - many of them Caldari, like the RR and ARR. And snipers in every suit imaginable, even though the sniper rifle is a railgun and gets bonuses only on a Caldari Assault suit. I'm sure if those bonuses actually meant anything, people would use the right suits with the right weapons to get them, but clearly they don't. |
